Missing Fiancee

Woman who is missing, her boyfriend told police, he would do a polygraph test, which is standard in most cases. Now the boyfriend is stating he may not.
If this guy has nothing to do with this, he sure is now beginning to make police think he does. Beginning to sound like another Scott Peterson deal. Just not married.
Yet who knows. The world today anything is possible.
I hope this young woman is found.
But the longer it goes, it's less likely she will be found alive.
But miracles still do happen.

Yeah last night I found out one of my best friend's aunts or somethin has gone missin... shes a big business woman .. married.. kids... just up and dissapeared! Shes been missing for about 2 days now! She was supposed to speak at some big lecture kinda thing.. just never showed up!

I hope things work out ok.
I'm honestly kind of blown away lately at all this and how things are going.
Don't understand a lot of it. But who knows. Hopefully things will work out in both cases, with nothing being bad.
Only thing i hate is the longer it goes, without ransom or something, well the news does not get to good.
Don't mean to make you sad or hurt. Just being honest.

Regarding the polygraph, I was taught in psychology class that if you're guilty you have nothing to lose by taking a polygraph, and everything to lose if you're innocent.

The fiance may be taking this stance in considering taking it.

Also - I have learned that the police did take 3 PCs from the home to examine.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A Georgia bride-to-be who vanished just days before her wedding turned up in New Mexico and fabricated a tale of abduction before admitting Saturday that she had gotten cold feet and "needed some time alone," police said.

Jennifer Wilbanks, 32, was in police custody more than 1,420 miles from her home on what was supposed to be her wedding day.

"It turns out that Miss Wilbanks basically felt the pressure of this large wedding and could not handle it," said Randy Belcher, the police chief in Duluth, Ga., the Atlanta suburb where Wilbanks lives with her fiance. He said there would be no criminal charges.

Wilbanks, whose disappearance set off a nationwide hunt, called her fiance, John Mason, from a pay phone late Friday and told him that she had been kidnapped while jogging three days before, authorities said. Her family rejoiced that she was safe, telling reporters that the media coverage apparently got to the kidnappers.

But Wilbanks soon recanted, according to police.

Ray Schultz, chief of police in Albuquerque, said Wilbanks "had become scared and concerned about her impending marriage and decided she needed some time alone." He said she traveled to Las Vegas by bus before going to Albuquerque.

"She's obviously very concerned about the stress that she's been through, the stress that's been placed on her family," he said. "She is very upset."

The mood outside Wilbanks' home went from jubilant to somber after Wilbanks changed her story. Family members ducked inside and the blinds were drawn, but friends expressed relief that Wilbanks was safe.

"Having cold feet is a joy compared to what the alternative might have been," friend Melinda Larson, who had planned to attend the wedding, told CNN.

The wedding was going to be a huge bash. The couple had mailed 600 invitations, and the ceremony was to feature 14 bridesmaids and 14 groomsmen.

Wilbanks' uncle, Mike Satterfield, thanked people who had helped in the search and supported the family.

"Jennifer had some issues the family was not aware of. We're looking forward to loving her and talking to her about these issues," he said.

Mason and Wilbanks' family planned to fly to Albuquerque later Saturday.

Wilbanks, who is a nurse, was tired and thirsty, but was not complaining of any injuries Saturday, officials said. Her hair, which was long in pictures released by her family, was shoulder-length.

Just hours before Wilbanks called her fiance, police in Duluth said they had no solid leads in the case and began dismantling a search center. Relatives offered a $100,000 reward for information and were planning a prayer vigil.

The hunt for Wilbanks had consumed Duluth, a tight-knit town. Her picture and newspaper articles about her disappearance were on telephone poles and shop windows. Police had also seized three computers from the home she shared with Mason.

Mason had become a target of suspicion and agreed to a private polygraph test, which Wilbanks' family said he passed. He had been negotiating with authorities for another test.

"That's been the hardest part for me," Mason said after Wilbanks called from Albuquerque. "It gives you a feeling like you can't walk outside your home."

Larson, a friend of both Mason and Wilbanks, said she thought the bride-to-be had no idea her disappearance would draw so much attention.

"Sometimes things take on a life of their own, just like weddings," she said

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A suburban Atlanta prosecutor said Sunday he would be less likely to bring charges against runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks if authorities determine she left spontaneously rather than planning her disappearance.

"If she just freaked out and split, I'd be less inclined to hold her criminally responsible than if it were a deceptive plan all along," Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter told CNN.

But a source briefed on the status of the investigation said Wilbanks had bought her cross-country bus ticket several days before she disappeared, and had also made advance arrangements for a ride to the bus station.

That account clashes with what the FBI said the 32-year-old medical assistant told investigators after she surfaced late Friday in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Wilbanks was scheduled to get married Saturday in front of 600 guests. She told investigators in Albuquerque that she embarked on her trip without a plan, leaving on "the spur of the moment" with $140-$150, FBI spokesman Bill Elwell said Saturday.

The stress of the wedding had gotten to her, and after the marathon runner went jogging Tuesday evening near her house in Duluth, Georgia, she took a taxi to a Greyhound bus station, where she boarded a bus to Las Vegas, Nevada, Elwell said.

"She admitted she did cut her hair on her own," he said. "She did not want anyone to recognize her. She had some idea people were looking for her."

A one-way bus ticket to Las Vegas from the Atlanta area costs about $170 -- more than investigators said she told them she was carrying at the time. The source briefed on the investigation said Wilbanks cut her hair Tuesday.

After a night in Las Vegas, she befriended a Hispanic man and a white woman -- Wilbanks told investigators -- and the three took a bus to Albuquerque.

Police in New Mexico and Georgia said no criminal charges were pending, but Porter said Saturday that no decisions would be made before Monday.

Last year, a Wisconsin college student who faked her abduction was sentenced to probation and ordered to reimburse police. (Full story)

Wilbanks had been scheduled to marry John Mason, 32, in a swank ceremony with 14 bridesmaids and 14 groomsmen.

She returned to Atlanta late Saturday, handing a statement for reporters to a flight attendant shortly before landing. (Full story)

"She has spoken to her fiance," the statement read. "He cannot wait to see her. She says the wedding is not called off, just postponed."

Wilbanks wore a brightly colored fabric over her head to hide her face as she exited the aircraft.

Wilbanks initially told police in New Mexico she had been kidnapped, but she told them after questioning that she had fled voluntarily because she "needed some time alone" before the wedding, police said.

Police located Wilbanks by tracing a telephone call she made to Mason to a convenience store.

Wilbanks also made an emergency call to Albuquerque police. During that call, an apparently upset Wilbanks reported she had been kidnapped.

But it took only a few hours of questioning for authorities to learn that Wilbanks left on her own.

Duluth residents, including some of the 150 volunteers who had helped search for Wilbanks, had a mixed reaction to her return.

"We were all disappointed, maybe a little embarrassed," said the Rev. Alan Jones, who was to have performed the wedding. (More hometown reaction)

Sunday morning, a near-capacity crowd packed into Riverbend Baptist Church in Gainesville, Georgia -- home of Wilbanks' mother and stepfather -- and heard the Biblical parable of the prodigal son from interim Pastor Ken Allen.

When the story ended, the congregation of about 400 burst into applause.
